Real SFX welcomed the Welsh Government Deputy Minister for Skills and Technology, Julie James, to our workshop on 3rd February 2015 in preparation for the celebration of National Apprenticeship Week.
The Deputy Minister visited our current apprentice Rowena Griffith-Lewis and our two former apprentices, who are now trainee technicians, Dewi Foulkes and David Kneath, and was shown a range of special effects by both the apprentices and Real SFX Supervisor Danny Hargreaves.
National Apprenticeship Week will take place this week between 9th-13th Febrary 2015 and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
National Apprenticeship Week 2015 is about:
* Getting small businesses to take on apprentices
* Promoting the range and bredth of apprenticeships on offer, including those at Higher Level and within blue chip companies
* Celebrating apprenticeships and the level of success that learners can achieve
Real SFX have worked alongside Cardiff and the Vale College and Cyfle to develop a specific apprenticeshiop programme in creative and digital media at our Cardiff workshop. This has seen three apprentices, Dewi, Dave and Rowena, recruited over the past three years with more in the pipeline.
In the past company Director Carmela Hargreaves has said of the programme: "The Apprenticeship Programme is embedded into the Real SFX business plan and there is huge potential for apprentices to grow with us."
