Real SFX have won a British Academy Television Craft Award for outstanding special and visual effects on the BBC’s 50th anniversary special Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor, in the category of Special, Visual & Graphic Effects.
The 2014 British Academy Television Craft Awards ceremony took place on the 27th April 2014 and celebrated the very best behind-the-scenes talent in British television of the past year. The ceremony was hosted by Stephen Mangan at The Brewery, City of London.
2014 was the first year that the British Academy Television Craft Awards has recognised the work of the Physical Special Effects within this award category.
Within the category the other nominees were BlueBolt and Rushes for Peaky Blinders; Hollingworth Photography, British Technical Films and Colossus for Micro Monsters with David Attenborough: Predator; and Zoo, Fido and Colossus for David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive 3D.
