BAFTA Craft Award 2015

 

Real SFX are honoured to announce that they have won another BAFTA Cymru Award for their work on Doctor Who (The Magician’s Apprentice), in conjunction with Milk VFX.

Danny Hargreaves (Special Effects Supervisor) along with his wife Carmela Carrubba (Company Director) and the Real SFX team, attended the awards on Sunday 2nd of October 2016. This year’s awards took place in St David’s Hall in Cardiff and were hosted by Huw Stephens.

Danny Hargreaves said: “We’re so incredibly happy to have won this award. I've been working on the show for the past ten years and am so proud of the success it's achieved. It's an honour to collect this award on behalf of my team at Real SFX.”

Other nominations in the Special and Visual Effects and Graphic Identity category included Sherlock’s The Abominable Bride and SFA Y Blynyddoedd Blewog.

As well as their BAFTA Cymru win, 2016 has seen Real SFX win a Creative Arts Emmy (in conjunction with Milk VFX) for their work on Sherlock’s The Abominable Bride and receive a BAFTA Craft Award nomination for their work on the latest series of Doctor Who.

This year Real SFX provided a range of physical special effects for productions including Ben Wheatley’s upcoming feature film Free Fire, Amazon Prime’s The Collection, the fourth series of Sherlock, BBC 3’s Doctor Who spin-off Class, the third series of Peaky Blinders and they are currently in production for the newest series of Doctor Who that is set to be released in 2017.

Real SFX would like to congratulate all other nominees and winners at this year’s BAFTA Cymru Awards.
